Delete your
account.

Last updated .

Palate is a private restaurant journal made by Bing Studios (the developer name shown on the App Store and Google Play). This page explains how to delete your Palate account and the data associated with it. You have two options: delete everything in one step, or delete specific entries while keeping your account.

the fastest route

01. Delete your entire account

You can delete your account from inside the app. This permanently removes your profile and all data tied to it.

  1. 01Open Palate and sign in.
  2. 02Tap the Me tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. 03Tap the gear icon to open Settings.
  4. 04Scroll to the Danger zone at the bottom of Settings.
  5. 05Tap Delete account and confirm.

The app may ask you to sign in again before completing the deletion, this is a security check from Firebase to make sure you’re the owner of the account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no recovery window.

what gets deleted
  • · Your name and email address
  • · Every restaurant, visit, dish, and note you’ve saved
  • · Every photo you’ve uploaded
  • · Your authentication credentials
  • · All local app data on any device still signed in
what we retain
  • · Anonymous, aggregated analytics, events such as “an app open occurred on this date.” These contain no identifiers and cannot be tied back to you once your account is removed.
  • · Crash reports older than 90 days, if any. Firebase Crashlytics auto-deletes these on a rolling 90-day schedule.

02. Delete specific entries

You don’t have to delete your whole account to remove individual restaurants, visits, dishes, or photos. From inside the app:

  • Remove a restaurant, open the restaurant’s detail page, tap the menu icon, and choose Remove. This also removes every visit, dish, and photo tied to that restaurant.
  • Remove a single visit, open the restaurant, tap the visit you want to remove, then Edit → Remove.
  • Remove a photo, open the visit, tap Edit, tap the photo, and choose Remove.
  • Remove a single dish, open the visit, tap the dish, and choose Remove.

These actions are immediate and permanent. The rest of your account is unaffected.
